Certificate Interpretation

Understand what a course certificate records, which completion requirements to confirm and what recognition it does not automatically provide. This guide is general information, not verification of an individual certificate.

Read the issuer and certificate type first

Identify the organisation that actually issued the certificate and the exact credential title. A participation certificate records participation; a completion certificate records completion under the issuer's stated requirements. An assessment result should be interpreted using its published criteria. An ECAREERPLUZ-issued course certificate is distinct from a degree, diploma, professional licence or externally awarded credential.

Check the details on your certificate

Where present, check your name, course title, issuing organisation, centre, training dates, issue date, duration, certificate reference, assessment result and authorised signature. Not every certificate contains every field. Training duration is not automatically an academic credit value, and an issue date need not be the same as the last training date. Ask the issuer to clarify missing or unclear details.

Confirm course-specific completion requirements

Before enrolling, obtain the applicable requirements in writing: eligibility, attendance, practical work, projects, assessments, passing criteria and any administrative or fee conditions. Requirements vary by course and issuer; this page does not set a universal attendance percentage, pass mark or issue deadline. Registration, payment, attendance or submitting an enrolment request alone does not establish that all completion requirements have been met.

Understand results, grades and learning scope

Interpret any grade, score or competency statement against the issuer's grading scale and assessment method. A course title describes a learning area, not unlimited expertise or authority to practise. A certificate does not guarantee independent competence in every task, employment, placement, salary, promotion, admission or business success. Present the course and issuer accurately on your CV.

Recognition, accreditation and external credentials

Do not assume government recognition, university equivalence, academic credit, professional registration, scheme approval or employer acceptance from a logo, course name or franchise relationship. Request current documentary evidence for the specific credential and intended use, and confirm acceptance directly with the relevant employer, institution or regulator. External examinations, awarding bodies, eligibility and fees must be confirmed separately; training in a technology does not itself award that vendor's certification.

Clarification and authenticity enquiries

This website does not currently offer a public certificate-number lookup or automatic authenticity check. Contact the team through the links below with the course name, approximate training period and certificate reference if available. A reference, QR code, stamp or signature alone is not proof of authenticity; independently confirm the issuer and the official destination of any link. A submitted enquiry is a request for review, not an instant verification or authenticity decision.

Corrections, replacement and privacy

Report spelling errors or other discrepancies to the issuer and ask about its correction or replacement process, supporting evidence, applicable charges and timescales. No automatic reissue, free replacement or fixed turnaround is promised here. Share only necessary details. Do not send identity documents, full certificate scans, passwords or sensitive learner information through the general enquiry form; ask the team for an appropriate channel if evidence is needed. Third-party enquiries may require learner consent or other appropriate authority.

Use the certificate responsibly

Do not alter names, results, dates, issuer details or recognition claims, or present a course certificate as a different qualification. For overseas study, regulated work, equivalency or legal purposes, obtain guidance from the relevant authority before relying on it. If course-specific written terms or the issuer's records appear inconsistent with this general guide, request clarification rather than assuming recognition or validity.
